Over 5,000 students have attended a STEM Women event since 2018, meeting over 180 graduate employers. Our events are aimed at individuals who identify as female, and the most popular courses studied by the attendees were Computer Science and Data subjects (27%), followed by Engineering related disciplines (22%). The highest proportion of attendees were in their final year of study at university. 12,000 women follow STEM Women across our social media channels, and our events are promoted by relevant university departments, student societies and careers services.
Our online platform has many benefits for employers. Companies can engage with students via webchat, and decide which conversations get progressed to a voice or video call. They can also assign enquires to suitable representatives based on the students’ CV/bio, and deliver speaker sessions that can be viewed live or played back. Our favourite feature is a “sourcing” tool that enables companies to see who is active within the fair, to filter by course, and to then reach out and initiate a chat with their chosen attendees. So there’s no need to worry about a star candidate walking past the stand!
Our 2020 regional events will be marketed to students studying at a university based within a designated area and will attract employers from many different industry sectors. There will be separate events covering South West and South Coast England and South Wales, Midlands, London and Home Counties, North West England and North Wales, North East England and Yorkshire, Scotland, Ireland and The Netherlands. We will also be running two sector specific events, aimed at students who are targeting careers within technology or financial services. All our events will provide employers with an opportunity to meet highly relevant students seeking internships, placements and graduate jobs.
Our inaugural experienced hire event will enable employers to network with professionals working within the technology sector. We have been running graduate level events since 2018 and many of our community members are now early year professionals working within industry. Our event will combine keynote speakers, skill sessions and career networking. It will attract passive and active job hunters who will meet with relevant employers.
We can provide a bespoke careers event for your company. You can let us know your preferred course split, graduation year, geographic locations and ideal numbers. We will then invite suitable students and set up a virtual event on your behalf. Your team can then chat to the attendees, conduct interviews via video call and deliver webinars introducing your different business areas.
